Simera Sense Enhances Testing Capabilities

Installation of LDS V875 Combo Shaker System

On Monday, the 24th of November, Simera Sense marked a pivotal moment in their mission to deliver high-quality satellite systems with the successful installation of a LDS V875 Combo Shaker System. Installed in their ISO 7 cleanroom, this addition is part of their newly enhanced environmental testing facility, which also boasts a shock test capability for specialised testing requirements.

Led by installation expert William Hanekom, the shaker system was delivered and carefully installed atop a specially cast seismic block to ensure stability and peak performance. The process involved meticulous assembly and calibration, culminating in the first successful power-up and a series of test runs. The system passed all initial evaluations, demonstrating both precision and reliability.

The LDS V875 Combo Shaker System will play a critical role in vibration testing for Simera Sense’s 100mm, 200mm, and 300mm satellite cameras. These rigorous tests are designed to meet the demanding standards of space exploration, ensuring that each product can withstand the extreme conditions of launch and operation in orbit. This advanced capability reflects Simera Sense’s commitment to quality and innovation.

This facility upgrade represents a significant milestone for Simera Sense, further enhancing their capacity to meet global demands for groundbreaking satellite systems. CEO Johann du Toit expressed his satisfaction with the process, emphasising the importance of collaboration:

“It’s always a positive experience working with the TANDM team. When installing critical test facilities, having a partner you can count on is just as important as sourcing the best possible equipment. With TANDM, we get both. We look forward to leveraging this new test capability and increased capacity on-site!”

With the LDS V875 Combo Shaker System in place, Simera Sense is not just meeting industry standards—they are setting new ones. Their cleanroom, shock test facility, and enhanced vibration testing capabilities underscore their dedication to advancing satellite camera technology and ensuring readiness for the challenges of space exploration.
