The University of Pretoria’s premier Baja SAE team, TuksBaja, is revving up for an exhilarating journey to the 2025 Baja SAE competition in the USA! This marks their first in-person competition in five years, and the team is eager to showcase their cutting-edge 4WD off-road vehicle on the international stage.
What is Baja SAE?
Baja SAE is no ordinary challenge—it pushes engineering students to their limits, demanding ingenuity, technical expertise, and endurance. The competition requires teams to design, manufacture, and race a durable, high-performance, single-seater vehicle capable of conquering some of the toughest terrains. This real-world experience fosters critical industry skills, preparing students for careers in engineering by exposing them to challenges in design, manufacturing, budgeting, and teamwork.
