He specialized in flight test instrumentation at ATE and later led all electrical, avionics, and flight test systems for the AHRLAC program at Aerosud, a project that included over 300 successful test flights. As Divisional Manager for Flight Test Instrumentation at Incomar, Henri designs and integrates complex systems for a variety of aircraft.

A composite design engineer at Blackstone Tek, specializing in high-performance composite rims and bicycle frames. They have end-to-end expertise, from conceptualisation to final manufacture and testing to SAE, JASO, and TUV standards. They are also skilled in CT scanning and strain-gauge measurements and hold an MSc and BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Daniel du Toit is a Master’s student in Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at Stellenbosch University, graduating in 2025. His research develops an onboard railway track monitoring system using accelerometers, IMUs, and GPS for real-time defect detection. Passionate about test and measurement, he applies data-driven methods to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability in engineering.

Howard is a seasoned marketer with over a decade of B2B and B2C sales and marketing experience. As the International Sales Director at GAAT for the past five years, his technical expertise in the testing field has grown extensively. His international background enables him to communicate effectively with diverse, cross-cultural clients. He welcomes questions on environmental and reliability test equipment.

Michandre Smit holds a BSc in Zoology, a BEng in Civil Engineering, and is completing her Master’s in Transportation Engineering at the University of Pretoria. Since 2019, she has been a senior researcher at the CSIR, specialising in accelerated pavement testing with the Heavy Vehicle Simulator to advance road infrastructure performance.

Anique Phillips is completing her Master’s in Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at Stellenbosch University, graduating in 2025. Her research focuses on railway wheel wear measurement, integrating optical sensors, laser scanning, and data analysis. With experience in hardware and software design, she is passionate about advancing automation and sensing technologies in South Africa’s railway sector.

Rayden Peyper, Mechanical Engineer at Paramount Aerospace Industries, contributes to the Mwari ISR aircraft’s development. With a BEng from NWU and pursuing a Master’s in structural wing testing, he previously led sailplane certification at On-Track Technologies. Passionate about innovation, entrepreneurship, and service, he approaches engineering with faith, purpose, and integrity.

Thinus holds a BEng and MScEng in Mechanical Engineering (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University and briefly pursued a PhD before founding Ragamuffin Curry. Returning to STEM during the COVID-19 pandemic, he joined Soldersmith as a machine vision engineer and is now the Managing Director, blending technical expertise with customer-focused leadership.

Stephan Zeranka holds a PhD in Civil/Structural Engineering from Stellenbosch University and specialises in novel building technologies, including 3D concrete printing. With R&D experience in academia and industry across Europe and South Africa, he is currently the Head of R&D and Deputy Head of Engineering at Citra South Africa, driving innovation and sustainability in the housing sector.

Enrico is a Master’s student in Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at Stellenbosch University, set to graduate in December 2025. As part of the Gibela Engineering Research Chair, he has gained hands-on experience with thermal imaging, accelerometers, lasers, and strain gauges. Passionate about test and measurement, he is driven by its ability to solve unique challenges and enable innovative engineering solutions.

Carl-Hein holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechatronic Engineering from Stellenbosch University and is a Mechanical Engineer at CUBECOM. He focuses on the design, simulation, and testing of satellite communication systems, using climatic and dynamic testing to ensure reliability in demanding launch and space environments.

Hubert is part of the Advanced Design and Analysis team at eNtsa, where he has worked for nine years specialising in mechanical design, testing, and Finite Element Analysis. Based in Gqeberha, he completed his Master’s through eNtsa. Outside of engineering, he enjoys camping and mountain biking with his family and lives guided by his faith in Jesus.

Ronnie Scheepers is a Corporate Specialist for Structural Integrity at Eskom Generation Engineering with over 30 years of experience in the power generation industry. He focuses on engineering assessments and life extension studies of safety-critical equipment, including pressure vessels, piping, pumps, fans, and turbines, with research interests in laser welding, blade health monitoring, and material damage analysis.
